Weekend Ramblings for January 6, 2020

Happy New Year, y'all. Let me keep you in the loop. Things are movin' and shaken' around here. Let's make it an incredible year.

1. What a great time in North Carolina with my in-laws and extended family.

2. We ate the whole time like we were on a cruise ship… every two hours I think.

3. Laura and I are back on the healthy lifestyle now. :)

4. Thank you, Main Street, for giving your staff a Christmas break.

5. I came back very energized.

6. I told the staff ahead of time that they’ll learn quickly that my mind wonders (and dreams) while away. :)

7. The new stage backdrop looks awesome! I love the classy and contemporary look it brings.

8. We have some amazing volunteers!

9. I watched Marc’s sermon from December 29. Glad he’s here!

10. A newcomer to Main Street stopped me in the store and told me how fired up he is about what God is doing at Main Street.

11. 2020 is going to be an awesome year y’all!

12. I was challenged by Vision 2020 Sunday even before it got here.

13. I was reminded of the importance of putting God’s vision for the church before man’s vision.

14. Using His word as a roadmap is what Proverbs 29:18 conveys.

15. It was exciting to share all that God did in 2019. Didn’t hear it all? Well, go to to watch yesterday’s sermon.

16. Would love to Livestream our services for those who can’t make it. There’s a cost to make that happen so praying for God to provide the means.

17. I can’t wait for you to receive the Annual Report for 2019. We’ll email it out this upcoming weekend. Also, there will be copies available this Sunday.

18. When there are 25 baptisms and attendance is up 6% in 2019, you stop and thank God for life change.

19. The stewardship team has worked very hard on the 2020 budget proposal. You’ll see it this weekend as well.

20. Haven’t seen a friend at church in a while? Don’t guess how they’ve been. Contact them and let them know they are missed.

21. We are launching a brand-new series this coming Sunday entitled COMMUNITY - God’s Plan For Us All. Make sure you are at 9:30 or 11:00am.

22. Want to hear more about Main Street? Join us at Discover Main Street on Sunday, January 16 for lunch and fellowship. Register your family now at

23. It was a very busy Monday back in the office today. Our staff was rocking it out working on 2020.

24. I enjoyed talking strategy to impact the Next Generation today with our student pastor and kid’s director.

25. What is just one thing you can work on this week that will impact you and others for Christ?
